Seeing the beauty in everyday, simple things - that is what I strive for. I love how the droplets cling to a branches after a good rain, not to mention the jeweled effect of dewdrops on the grass in the morning sun. Autumn leaves swirling in the wind thrill my soul. The stunning peacefulness of snow and the gorgeous patterns of frost are awe inspiring. The lighting outside at dusk, where everything is bathed in a golden hue, can take my breath away. I adore falling asleep with moonlight on my pillow and waking up to a glorious sunrise. I am definitely a romantic at heart and one of my greatest joys is to put paint on canvas. Nearly year round, my easel is set up on my porch, where I can bring my inspirations to life, sip a glass of wine, and hopefully watch a magical sunset spread across the sky.
I live in a small town in Washington State, on part of the farm that my Grandfather bought nearly 120 years ago. I grew up here, surrounded by family and close friends, and my grandchildren are the 6th generation to romp around the yard and explore the woods. I love to garden, the outdoors, and all things creative. I am a country girl at heart, with a love for the rustic, vintage, farmhouse style, but I also need a little city, a little whimsy, and a little bohemian. Part of my heart belongs to my inner gypsy.
I've been fortunate in my life to work at many different things, all with a creative side, and have learned from them all. I started my career as a buyer for Nordstrom and tromped around New York in the latest fashions. (At least I thought I was all that.:) I had my own gift shop for many years - a fun adventure that I shared with my mom and sister. I taught art to K - 7th graders at a private school in my town and volunteered as an art docent for my grandson's grade school classes. Instilling the love of art into the hearts of children has to be one of the most rewarding endeavors of my life. Most recently, I've developed art and been an event instructor for Corks and Canvas Events, the original paint and sip company in Washington State. There were many other things in between and they have all contributed to the artist I am now. Now it's time to do my own thing, to paint for myself, and hopefully for you! Thank you for stopping by. I hope you've enjoyed my art and will come again soon.
